Closest Finish in Indianapolis 500 History

The 1992 Indianapolis 500 was supposed to be Michael Andretti's victory. Andretti started 6th and led 160 of 200 laps. He was on his way to victory when he slowed down with 11 laps to go, from a broken fuel pump. This gave the race to Al Unser Jr. who narrowly beat Scott Goodyear in a close photo-finish that remains the closest finish in Indianapolis 500 history. It was very unfortunate that Michael Andretti came that close to swigging the milk so many times but yet never won the Indianapolis 500.
